City Council & Mayor

The City of Newport operates under a Mayor and Council form of government. The city council is made up of the Mayor and four Council Members. The City Council is the legislative body of the community and is responsible for reviewing and approving the budget as well as the policies and ordinances that preserve and protect the health, safety, and welfare of all our residents.
