Development Review Board

The Development Review Board consists of 5 members appointed by the City Council for 3 year terms.  Meetings are held as necessary in the Council Room of the Municipal Building. 

The Development Review Board’s (DRB) authority and duties are laid out in both the Vermont State Statutes and the Newport City Zoning Regulations. Some of the duties of the DRB include the following:

  • Considers applications for conditional uses.
  • Considers applications for site plan approval.
  • Considers applications for subdivision.
  • Interprets the meaning of provisions of the Zoning By-laws when questions arise.
